The GMT800 is the best value in prerunner trucks, and the 99-06 Silverado and Sierra 1500 is the platform LSK has raced longest. We build three long travel race kits for it: a 2WD kit, a 4x4 kit, and a 4x4-to-2WD torsion bar delete kit that converts the front end to coilovers for trucks that no longer need four wheel drive. All three run boxed arms with serviceable pivots and geometry proven in class racing — this is not a lift, it is usable wheel travel that keeps the truck predictable at speed in the rough. Matched King 2.5 coilovers and 3.0 bypasses are specced per kit, and our machined steering clevis fixes the factory tie rod end's habit of folding. If you are building a 99-06 prerunner, chase truck, or race truck, everything on this page was engineered for exactly that.

99-06 Silverado 1500 (GMT800) — Common Questions

Do you make a long travel kit for both 2WD and 4x4 99-06 trucks?

Yes — a dedicated 2WD race kit, a 4x4 race kit that keeps four wheel drive, and a 4x4-to-2WD conversion kit that deletes the torsion bars and converts the front suspension to coilovers. All three fit 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 (the GMT800 generation, including 2007 Classic body trucks).

What is a torsion bar delete / coilover conversion?

4x4 GMT800s came with torsion bar front suspension. The delete kit removes the torsion bars and mounts King coilovers in their place — more travel, real spring rate tuning, and far better ride, on trucks being built for 2WD prerunner duty.

What shocks run on these kits?

King 2.5 coilovers up front with 3.0 bypasses, specced and valved for the kit and how the truck gets driven. The shock packages listed on this page are the exact configurations the kits were designed around.
