What the +3.5 YXZ long travel kit does

This kit takes the Yamaha YXZ 3.5 inches wider per side with 4130 chromoly, TIG-welded control arms and tie rod extensions — stronger and lighter than traditional mild steel arms. It is built for cars that split time between dunes and open desert, where the added track width turns into stability at speed.

Where it fits best

Dunes and desert are the kit's home. It can be used rock crawling, but the increased track width is something to weigh for tight technical trails — this is a width-and-speed kit, not a trials setup.

Common Questions

How much wider does this make the YXZ?

3.5 inches per side, with the geometry and strength coming from 4130 chromoly TIG-welded arms rather than widened mild-steel stock-style arms.

Why 4130 chromoly arms?

Structural rigidity and weight: TIG-welded 4130 arms are stronger and lighter than traditional mild steel, which matters on a car that jumps and runs whoops.

Will it work for rock crawling?

It can, but the added track width can pose challenges on tight technical trails — the kit is best suited to dunes and desert running.
